Asda is aiming for a slice of the pizza delivery market after announcing a partnership with delivery giant Just Eat.
The retailer will start trialling the service from stores in Beeston and Wakefield, West Yorkshire plus Livingston, in Scotland, from 19 November, having run a pilot in Killingbeck, Leeds, for the past month.
The move will see Asda take orders placed via the Just East food app and deliver within an approximate two-mile radius of the stores involved, with customers able to order a selection of pizzas from the Asda Kitchen, priced at £6 for a 16-inch pizza, which it hopes will undercut the likes of Domino’s and Pizza Hut.
Flavours include Margherita, American Sizzler, Pepperoni and Vegetable Supreme, as well as a £15 meal deal that includes any pizza, four sides, one drink, a dessert and dip.
The delivery service is available from the Asda Kitchen from lunchtime onwards.

“We’re really excited to be trialling this new service in our store in Killingbeck, along with plans to roll out to three more stores later this month,” said James Ainger, Asda’s senior buying manager.
“We know our customers love Asda pizzas and now they can have them delivered to their doorstep.”
Asda and Just Eat said that if the trial was successful they would look to continue the rollout to more stores.
A Just Eat spokesman added: “We have partnered with Asda on a localised trial for takeaway delivery in Leeds. This is part of our mission to offer customers the widest choice possible and we will continue to assess the results to determine whether we can expand our partnership further.”
Last year, Morrisons become the first grocer in the UK to partner with Just Eat, with a Bombay Bites Express concession at its Victoria Shopping Centre store in Bradford.
