One of the leading e-commerce software tools has added a virtual assistant called Emma to help occasional users use the service.

The virtual assistant is one of a number of new features of E Fundamentals’ e-commerce analytics program, with other new tools designed to address measures of performance and a flightcheck mode for mobile-optimised image readiness.

Speaking at The Grocer Conference on Tuesday, E Fundamentals CEO John Maltman said: “The new version of our service is simpler and faster. The fundamentals remain the same but we’re building in work flow and tasking tools.”

Of the virtual assistant he added: “We recognise not everyone who plays with the software will use it every day. If I were a brand manager, for example, I’d be looking at shopper reviews quarterly to see what the big developments are.”

“So we built into the software Emma. She’s going to be very important.”
