Graze Race for Live

Tesco is introducing an exclusive limited-edition range of Graze snacks to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The charity will receive 20p for every multipack sold and 5p per individual portion, with a target of raising over £100,000.

The snacks, aimed at health-conscious shoppers, are packaged in pink, the colour worn by women taking part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life fundraising runs, and the personal stories of Tesco employees affected by cancer are featured on the packs.

There are three flavours consisting of Black Pepper Veggie Protein, Sweet and Spicy Beetroot Boost or Chili and Peanut Plant Power.

The range is due to be in stores by this weekend, when Tesco also plans to “turn their large stores pink”. A Tesco spokesman said customers could “expect to see colleagues wearing pink and having fun to help encourage people to donate and sign up to Race for Life”.

“We’re really excited to be partnering with Tesco to launch an exclusive range of snacks in support of Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life,” said Stephen Hann, head of grocery at Graze.

“Money raised will help Cancer Research UK scientists and doctors find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease, helping save more lives,” said Emily Smith, head of events marketing for Cancer Research UK.

Tesco’s Weston-super-Mare branch community champion Judith Cullen, whose story is among those told on the packs, said: “After losing my mum to cancer, I know the affect the disease can have on families. I feel honoured to share my story and hope that in some way it encourages people to support Cancer Research UK.”
