Thomas Lowndes has added Champagne brand Charles Ellner to its portfolio of liqueurs and spirits.

Horsham-based Thomas Lowndes is a subsidiary of the Jim Beam Brands

business (owned by Fortune Brands) and already has access to Jim Beam and

After Shock, which are used to enhance some food products.

"Recent changes to trading standards legislation now prevents food manufacturers from using Marc de Champagne in recipes to achieve Champagne status," explained MD John Meyer. "This has led to a greater demand for the 'real thing'. We are demonstrating our customer commitment by sourcing two new Champagne variants."

The Charles Ellner brand of Champagne is available as: standard Champagne Ph. D'Abercourt, comprising 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay; and Rose Brut, a 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay blend. Both Champagnes come in 75cl glass bottles.
