Sir; re my recent letters on the subject of Tesco overpricing its vegetable produce and in particular baby new potatoes' (July 28 and August 11). I was delighted to see, on visiting the Derby store today, that it has conceded the argument and admitted its fault by halving the price of the product. If Tesco is making a profit at 74p per kilo (£740 per tonne), it was making a killing at £1,790 per tonne. I am, of course, sure that this sensible reduction has nothing at all to do with the publicity resulting from your publication of my letters.
