Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is set to report back on progress made following his Chicken Out campaign earlier this year in a one-year-on programme early next year.

The one-off programme, scheduled to air on 26 January, according to Keo Films, the television production company of which Fearnley-Whittingstall is a director, would include a follow-up to the resolution put forward at this year’s Tesco annual general meeting, said a Keo spokeswoman.

The chef had petitioned Tesco to only use higher-welfare chicken, but his proposal was rejected. Both the British Poultry Council and Lloyd Maunder, which assisted with filming for the first series, have been in touch with the presenter throughout the course of the year. It is understood that filming has been taking place since January on Lloyd Maunder farms.
