Pig producers have signed up a raft of celebrity chefs including Jamie Oliver, Aldo Zilli and Raymond Blanc to a new campaign to promote British pork.

A new recipe booklet, ­entitled Choose It & Use It, was launched this week featuring the chefs' pork, ham and sausage recipes and encouraging shoppers to buy Red Tractor-assured British pork.

In the booklet's foreward, Oliver, who ran his own campaign in support of British pig farmers in 2009, urges consumers to try pork. "Why not choose pork, and do please make sure you look for quality marks like the Red Tractor because that ensures high welfare standards," he says. "Also try a few of the cheaper but delicious cuts like shoulder and belly."
