Wine producer Concha y Toro has launched its Palo Alto brand to expand the Chilean wine offering to UK consumers.
The single red wine is a blend of three grape varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère and Syrah, but there is no indication of these on the front label. Instead the wine will rely on its quality and strong packaging as well as the brand name, according to the company.
Although Palo Alto will be distributed in the UK market by Concha y Toro UK, it is a standalone brand and sits at a different price point from others in the producer's portfolio at £6.99.
Cristian Lopez, MD of Concha y Toro, said: "With this level of quality at this price point, it is unique in the Chilean wine category."
