Egg supplier Chippindale Foods has invested £4.2m in a new grading and packing facility for free-range eggs.
The 55,000 sq ft site in Flaxby, North Yorkshire, is double the size of its previous base in Harrogate, where it has relocated from.
The move forms part of Chippindale’s plans to increase turnover by 50% over the next three years.
The new site houses a specialist egg grading machine that will allow the company to increase output to more than one million eggs per day, up from four million per week currently.
Chippindale sells eggs under its Free Rangers free-range egg brand and also supplies eggs into foodservice and retail own label.
