Procter & Gamble has made Gianni Ciserani vice-president and general manager of its UK and Ireland operations, replacing Chris de Lapuente.
Ciserani joined P& G in 1987, progressing to marketing director, western Europe, for Pampers in 1998. He assumed his last role as vice-president, European babycare, based in Geneva, in 2000.
De Lapuente will move to P&G’s headquarters in Egham, Surrey, on July 1, to become president of global haircare, succeeding Martin Nuechtern.
De Lapuente joined P&G in the UK in 1983. He held a number of assignments in the
marketing department before transferring to P&G Spain as marketing director for laundry and cleaning products.
He became general manager for P&G’s European Feminine Protection business, based in Frankfurt, in 1995 before returning to the UK in 1998.
Ciserani said: “The Procter & Gamble UK and Ireland company is one of the prized jobs for any general manager. I am very excited at the prospect of leading the team.”
