Capespan sees red Capespan is expecting to market 1.25 million cartons of citrus in the UK this year. The figure is based on 450,000 cartons of Navels and mid season fruit, and 800,000 Valencia types, but there also will be several new varieties. They include Cara Cara, a red Navel which originated as a mutation in Venezuela 30 years ago and is now successfully being grown in South Africa. There will be small volumes of the Tarocco, the Italian blood orange, and a Kyomi, a cross between a satsuma and a Navel. It is harvested late and stores well. {{FRESH PRODUCE }}
