Coca-Cola GB has donated £50,000 towards the training of 120 new swimming coaches and teachers in a bid to get 22,000 more people swimming.

The handout to The Swimming Trust will be used for a coach education grant fund and providing training opportunities for volunteers at swimming, diving, synchronised swimming and water polo clubs across the UK.

It is part of Coca-Cola's commitment as partner of the London 2012 Olympic Games to get Britain more active and follows its 'Schwim Free' campaign for Schweppes Abbey Well, which was launched last March. More than 47,000 swims were redeemed in the scheme's first year.

"We hope this year the scheme will be even bigger and better, with 440 pools signed up including 90 across London," said Coca-Cola UK and Ireland country manager Jon Woods.
