Coca-Cola and PepsiCo are set to launch ‘mid-calorie’ colas Stateside to appeal to health-conscious consumers and fight their migration to bottled water, sports drinks and juices.

This summer, Pepsi is to launch Pepsi Edge, which has half the sugar, carbohydrates and calories of regular colas, and Coke could hit the shelves with C2, according to the Wall Street Journal.

A 12-ounce can of Coke Classic contains 140 calories and the same-sized can of Pepsi-Cola has 150 calories.
