In-store parcel delivery service CollectPlus is set to expand its network by a third over the next 12 months.
The delivery and returns operator – a joint venture owned PayPoint and delivery service Yodel – provides returns services for 260 retail brands including Amazon and Asda. It is currently available in 5,500 c-stores, forecourts and supermarkets across the UK but is targeting 7,500 stores in the next 12 months.
“The CollectPlus network has been strategically developed to incorporate the best local stores,” said CEO Neil Ashworth. “We’re extremely proud that as we approach our fifth birthday we are accelerating our network coverage and will be almost two-thirds the size of the Post Office this time next year.
“Furthermore, we are working towards a longer-term goal of having 12,000 stores in our network and strengthening our position as the largest store-based parcel service.”
CollectPlus, which handles around 25,000 parcels each week, said there were “significant commercial benefits” for stores offering the service because it worked as a footfall driver and retailers could earn commission on parcel transactions.
As part of its expansion plans, last month the company launched an integrated marketing campaign, including a five-week TV, radio and digital advertising push.
