Foodservice giant 3663 First For Foodservice has won a multi-million pound contract to supply Pizza Express restaurants from struggling wholesaler Woodward Foodservice. The contract to supply the chain's 334 restaurants with frozen and ambient products will be handed over from October. It is the latest contract Woodward has lost to its rival in the past few months, including a £128m deal to supply fresh and grocery lines to HM Prisons. 3663 logistics division MD Andrew Selby said: "Not only are we winning new contracts, but the renewal of our contract to supply Greene King demonstrates that we are pleasing our existing customers." A spokesman for Woodward said it had agreed to end the PizzaExpress deal as the wholesaler was seeking to rationalise its operational network and focus on its core business. Earlier this year Woodward experienced high- profile cashflow problems.
