She also said it was very spacious and well merchandised, which allowed her to spot products on her list with no difficulty.
The store was also clean and tidy with helpful staff that greeted her at the checkout.
Our shopper was also impressed that she spent just one minute queuing at the checkout and that her receipt was error-free. The store clearly met the needs of local shoppers.
Indeed, according to CACI data it is second only to Tesco in terms of fit with the local demographic. Around half the local population is either comfortably off or moderately well off.
Paul Saville has been general manager of the store for four years and has worked for Morrisons for more than 15 years. He said after a complete store refurbishment, Morrisons Starbeck was the trial store for the company's health and beauty range.
"We had a brand new health and beauty department after the refit and we were the first store in the company to trial the extended range," he says. "On the back of its success here it was rolled out across the company."
