Somerfield group brands director Nick Adderley has been made redundant just seven months after being headhunted from Sainsbury/ Carlton TV venture Taste CFN, where he was marketing director. Adderley left to join Somerfield in July last year. Prior to that he headed home shopping service Sainsbury to You. A Somerfield spokesman said: "Adderley's position became redundant with our transition to two business units."(The Grocer, February 9). "There was no role in the new structure for someone of his experience." Former associate director of marketing Martin Sutherland  who was working alongside Adderley for the past four months  will replace him as brand director within the Somerfield business unit. Sutherland has been with Somerfield for three and a half years and was previously format development manager at WHSmith. He said his main aims in his new role would be to develop a robust retail brand and to ensure that all Somerfield stores had full marketing support. {{NEWS }}
