The competition continues to increase this week with Tesco, Safeway and Sainsbury all pushing up the chart. There remains only a little over three percentage points separating these fascia but it is Tesco which secures the top spot. There has been a resurgence of activity on Heinz, returning the brand to the top of the chart. Activity on Birds Eye has grown, particularly in Safeway, helping frozen to retain its hold on the category chart. There are three new entries in the brand chart, including McVitie's at No 5. Alcoholic drinks enters the category chart at number three. Within this category there is a much wider diversity of product on promotion than is usual.
