Chief executive officer of Anglia Regional Co-operative Society Neil Double is to retire.
Double has held the role since April 2002 and has worked at the society for more than 44 years. During that time he has held various senior and executive positions, including organisation and methods officer, personnel services controller and support services executive.
The group wants to recruit an "inspirational leader" to replace Double and is looking for people with experience in developing, acquiring and operating profitable retail operations.
Anglia is the UK's sixth largest co-operative society, employing 3,400 staff, with an annual turnover of £360m. It has more than 100 food and non-food stores, including department stores, home furnishing outlets and funeral services.
