Campaigners against Tesco’s post office closure programme have launched a national web site in a bid to save their local post offices.

The web site ( highlights 21 post offices around the country being closed by Tesco, and it allows visitors to the site to sign local petitions and read news stories.

Martin Tod, one of the organisers of the web site and a campaigner against the closure of a post office in Whitchurch, Hampshire, commented: “Post Offices are vital for local communities and yet one by one Tesco are closing post offices around the country.

“The name of the site is intended to remind Tesco that getting rid of post offices to make more room for yogurts is at odds with their own marketing messages. For many of their customers having a post office is more than a little help, Many senior citizens or people with young children rely on local post offices.”
