Reaction to yesterday’s impressive results from Tesco dominates the food and drinks news in today’s papers. Interested parties include the Daily Mail, the Financial Times and The Independent.

The Daily Express concentrates on its struggles in the US, however, while The Times focuses on how Tesco will use those £3bn profits to add more stores and 26,000 new staff.

The Mail also looks at the retailer’s plans to grow its banking business, as does the FT.

Also unveiling its numbers yesterday was Mr Kipling maker Associated British Foods, as reported in the Mail.

Meanwhile, the Mail hasn’t had a food-related cancer scare for a while… but it’s back on form with this reporton the perils of eating cooked meat.
