Asda is overhauling its home shopping groceries website to make it clearer and easier to use.

It has also changed its delivery charges, bringing them into line with Tesco’s and Sainsbury's charges, with weekend slots going up in price from £5 to £5.50 and midweek slots falling from £4 to £3.50.

The new website is being trialled in Grimsby, Rotherham and Doncaster and will gradually be rolled out nationwide.

As well as an improved search engine and a clearer design, the service would also offer “greener delivery slots for when a van is nearby”, said the retailer.
