Asda’s Collect+ scheme is growing at about 50% week-on-week, Asda’s head of online shopping, Jon Wragg, has said.

The service allows Asda shoppers to buy George and Asda Direct items online and collect and return them the next day at more than 5,000 convenience stores, such as Costcutter and Londis, and 450 petrol stations - all for £4.50.

The partnership with courier firm Collect+ extends Asda’s existing Click & Collect service, available for general merchandise products in all 566 Asda stores and for grocery in 86 stores (though Asda expects it to reach 200 by the end of 2013).

Asda is the first major retailer to include next-day delivery in a Collect+ scheme.
