Dinesh Patel of Parsons Local in Bradford headed the honour roll at the third Bestway Retailer Awards. He won £3,000 for having the best c-store. The store, which includes an off licence, food to go, office services and home delivery among its many extras, was described by the judges as "professional, clean, attractive, bright and comfortable". Other winners from among the 240 independent retailer entrants included Atwar Singh Sira who won £2,500 for best off licence. His store, Sira Drinks, has "rejuvenated the area" in Binley Wood Leicester, according to the judges. Shiruse Ladha, from Diamond News in Shirebrook, Mansfield, won £2,500 for best CTN. His shop is unusual because it trades within a marketplace, opening from 5am for the stallholders. The best city centre store title went to Erhan Yilmaz of Kent Supermarket, in Tottenham, London. Yilmaz, who complements his basic range with a wide selection of ethnic speciality products, also received a prize of £2,500. {{NEWS }}
