A range of premium ready to cook meals is the latest weapon in Safeway's arsenal to catch the attention of the affluent consumer. Currently under trial in 10 stores around the south and London, the Best To Go range features a mixture of modern-European bistro-style meals alongside the stores' Fresh To Go offerings. The concept includes everything from stuffed peppers to Cajun Blackened Chicken in Monterey Jack Sauce. At the moment the meals are being sold cold and ready to heat up at home in either a microwave or oven, but a spokesman said they are considering offering them hot from the store as well. The trial has been running for five weeks and is aimed primarily at busy city centres. {{NEWS }}
