Marks & Spencer: plans to reduce packaging by 25% and make all packaging recyclable or compostable by 2012. Sainsbury's: says all its ready meals and 90% of organic lines will be sold in compostable packaging by the end of the year. Tesco: packaging on branded and own label products to be cut by 25% and 80% of its waste diverted from landfill. Asda: wants to design out unnecessary packaging by March 2008 and is committed to send nothing to landfill by 2010. Waitrose: has pledged to eliminate packaging growth by 2008 and has set up recycling points for clothing, glass and paper at some of its stores. Morrisons: intends to cut own label packaging by 15% by 2010 and extend its compostable packaging to 200 lines. Aims to recycle, recover or redirect 50% more waste from landfill. The Co-operative Group: says it will reduce own label packaging by 15% by 2010 and also reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
