Northern supermarket chain Booths is offering a free shuttle bus from Penrith railway station to its flagship store in Keswick, 17 miles away, in an attempt to entice Morrisons shoppers affected by the recent fire at the Penrith Morrisons.

The upmarket retailer, which has five stores in the county, is offering the service despite criticism in the press that some retailers were "cashing in" on the fire. Carlisle Tourism Partnership, M&S and The Lanes shopping centre are running a shuttle bus from Penrith station to Carlisle city centre.
