Scottish Spar chain Botterills is reshuffling its management team as it divides its store portfolio into four geographical areas as a result of continued expansion.
Alasdair Lindsay will move from his post as merchandising co-ordinator next month to area store controller, responsible for eight stores.
He has worked for the retailer since 1997, joining as a part time sales assistant in its Torrance branch. Since then he has also worked in store management.
As a result, Gerry Burns has been promoted from store manager to replace Lindsay.
He started working for Botterills in 1993.
Botterills retail director Lizette Craig said the company would be opening its 39th store in April and number 40 by the end of June.
Botterills is ranked 21 in The Grocer Top 50 of independent retailers, with an annual turnover of £50.2m.
