Symbol group MBL is to roll out a new look for Budgens and Londis stores.
Budgens will sport a fascia with a white background and light green lettering while Londis will also have a white background and green lettering with a solitary diamond above the i.
Budgens also has a new strapline - Real Food for Today's Communities - as it bids to position itself as a retailer at the heart of the community. Ranges in both chains will place a heavier focus on fresh produce, hot food to go, bakery and beer, wines and spirits.
"The stores will offer a distinctive blend of products and services with an increased emphasis on local sourcing," said Budgens MD Martin Hyson.
The first Londis store with the new branding will open in Weymouth, Dorset, next week, while the first new-look Budgens will be a store in Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, scheduled to open in July.
MBL parent company, Ireland's Musgrave Group said plans for all Budgens stores to become independently owned by franchisees by the end of the year remained on track. There are currently 116 independently owned Budgens stores and 64 corporate-run stores.
