The move entails updating store ranges, equipment, merchandising units and training programmes provided by Cuisine de France.
The range comprises 50 lines, including rolls, Parisien sticks and sweet pastries, with products displayed in traditional baskets. It has been installed in all Budgens’ corporate stores and the majority of its franchise stores.
As part of the initiative, a bakery manager has also been recruited for each store.
Budgens senior bakery buyer Nick Hill said: “The range, equipment and long term support, together with buy-in and involvement of store teams have seriously boosted our bakery performance.”
Cuisine de France UK sales director Brian O’Hagan said: “Not only have we witnessed mutually beneficial sales growth, but, together with Budgens, we have planned to raise shopper awareness and instore operations.”
