Musgrave Budgens Londis has just 13 corporate Budgens stores left to sell to independent retailers.
MBL is aiming to convert Budgens to a pure franchise operator by the end of the year as it moves to focus on wholesaling.
There are 116 independently owned Budgens stores and 64 corporate-run stores. Only 13 corporate stores do not have a potential buyer and the remaining 51 are at the early stages of sale, a spokeswoman for Budgens said.
Six of the 13 stores are in East Anglia, three in the south east of England and four in the north. Plans for all Budgens stores to be independently owned by franchisees by the year-end were on track, she added.
MBL is running adverts to generate sale interest in the remaining stores, which read: "We are looking for retail partners who share our brand values - who are committed, genuine, imaginative and energetic retailers who want to take advantage of the opportunity of a lifetime."
