Scottish Mace wholesaler Aberness has recruited Yvonne Mackie as its training and development officer.
She will be responsible for establishing and overseeing in-house training programmes, from the warehouse end of the business to customer service, and creating a team of skilled tutors who can deliver them.
Mackie moves from Boots where she was operations team manager in 2001 and 2002 and was responsible for leading, motivating and coaching staff.
Before that she was team manager for Boots' Union Street store in Aberdeen from 1999-2001. She worked for the chemist for 11 years in various retail positions.
Mackie said Aberness' training differed from Boots because Boots had no training scheme for its own tutors.
She added: "Aberness is a smaller organisation, so there is more focus on training. Boots' trainers are also head office based and not located in stores, as they are at Aberness."
