No, this wasn't where one hardy canoeist ended up after the snow melted this week instead it is a couple of Olympic canoeing hopefuls, Richard Hounslow and Rachel Cawthorn, celebrating Tesco's two-year sponsorship of GB Canoeing.

As part of the retailer's support, it this week started selling a range of canoes, kayaks and other equipment through Tesco Direct, which it said would generate interest in the sport.

"We hope the team can go all the way to gold with our support," said commercial director Richard Brasher.
