Retailer Atul Amin’s decision to invest £300,000 refurbishing his Nisa Extra in West Bromwich paid dividends when his store was named the Best Nisa Fascia Store in the group’s annual awards.

Creightons of Finaghy in Belfast was named best store under 3,000 sq ft, forecourt retailer Bellini’s won the category for stores between 3,000 and 8,000 sq ft and Roys of Wroxham’s supermarket in Norwich was voted the best store over 8,000 sq ft.

Suppliers were also rewarded, with Coca-Cola Enterprises, Highland Spring, Arla Foods, Scottish Courage Brands and Kruger Consumer Division all picking up awards in recognition of their service to the group.

In the Today’s Group annual awards, Dee Bee Distribution and JW Filshill were joint winners of the prize for best delivered wholesaler. Hothi Cash and Carry was judged best C&C and MJ Baker Foodservice was named best specialist wholesaler.

Masterfoods, Robert McBride Group, Unilever Bestfoods, Kimberly-Clark and Constellation Wines won the supplier awards.

The awards ceremonies coincide with the Nisa-Today's national exhibition for retailers and wholesalers at Stoneleigh - an event that had a record number of suppliers exhibiting.
