Chappell swaps Alliance Boots for role at Asda

Gavin Chappell has been appointed supply chain director of Asda after spending six years at Alliance Boots in the same role.

Chappell will oversee a major supply chain transformation programme, starting next year, and report to chief operating officer Andy Clarke.

While at Alliance Boots, Chappell re-engineered its supply chain to improve availability and oversaw the integration of Boots and Alliance Unichem's merged supply chains. He takes over from Huw Edwards, who is now central procurement director, under chief merchandising officer Darren Blackhurst.
