Tesco has taken its Cherokee clothing and a range of own label non-food lines to Germany after extending a supply deal with armed forces retailer Naafi.

Tesco started shipping own label chilled, ambient and frozen food over to Naafi’s larger Max stores in Germany last summer, and has been steadily building its presence ever since to well over 2,000 lines, said commercial director Christian Rose.

“We’ve just done some customer research and Tesco lines are exceptionally popular.

“We have got a wide range of Tesco own label non-food lines now such as towels, clothes, crockery and kitchen utensils.”

Branded goods across all of Naafi’s German formats, Max Local and Express, are still supplied by Spar wholesaler James Hall.

Tesco is also supplying non-food lines and ambient groceries to Naafi stores in Cyprus, the Falklands, the Ascension Islands, Kenya and Belize.
