CJ Lang is to put TV screens into its 91 company-owned stores to advertise the best deals and new products.

The Scottish Spar retailer is the first convenience chain to use the service provided by Amscreen, which will install the monitors in prominent points in c-stores and forecourts.

CJ Lang will not have to pay for the service, which is funded by national advertising for brands such as Lucozade, Red Bull and Camelot.

"An initial trial in a handful of our own stores demonstrated that Amscreen would make a positive contribution to our business," said business development controller Philippe Rondepierre. "Working with a media outlet such as Amscreen allows us to cater our promotions and offers to our audience in a new, unique way that is sure to catch their attention."

The monitors are already in Shell and Esso forecourts and in some travel stores.
