The Co-operative Group has launched a new website to publicise its food business and sell non-food items not available in stores.

Although shoppers can't buy groceries for home delivery on the website, users can purchase non-food items including DVDs, CDs, games, books and perfume.

The Co-op said the site had been launched because many shoppers were reappraising the retailer following the rollout of The Co-operative brand across the food store estate, its ongoing store refit programme and its acquisition of Somerfield.
