United Co-op, Scottish bakers R Mathieson’s and Tate & Lyle all emerged victorious in the Food and Drink Federation Community Partnership Awards, which were announced at a special dinner in London last night.

The companies picked up gold for the work they have done forging partnerships with their local communities.

FDF President John Sunderland said that partnerships were key for the industry, particularly when it came to finding solutions to difficult subjects like the food and health debate. “We need a joined up approach to the issue of obesity to get real progress on this complex issue.”
