Compass has appointed Russell Scanlon to the newly-created position of director of business development for Instore, its specialist restaurant and cafe division.

Scanlon, who joins from Lexington Catering where he was sales and marketing director, was also previously business development manager at Compass’ executive dining division Restaurant Associates.

Scanlon takes over responsibility for client sales and marketing for Instore, which supplies retailer cafes including Tesco and Homebase and is part of Eurest, Compass’ business and industry division.

The role has been created as the business looks to drive growth and expand into new markets, Compass said.

“I am delighted to announce Russell’s appointment; it marks an exciting time for our Instore team,” said Eurest MD Andy Barry.

“Russell has extensive experience in our industry and brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to help drive our growth. I have no doubt he’ll be an invaluable addition to the team.”

Scanlon added: “I am absolutely thrilled to be back at Compass to work with the Instore team to build upon our success to date in this fast-paced market sector.”
