The Costcutter and Connex partnership is to open its next two train station stores early next year.
Costcutter sales director David Thompson said his company was meeting Connex for a final review next week, after finalising a protracted deal to open 42 station stores.
The first joint venture store opened in Gillingham, Kent, in February, but the project appeared to have ground to a halt by the summer as Connex dragged its feet. But now stores in Chatham, Kent, and at Bromley South are due to open in the next six to eight weeks.
Thompson said Costcutter was also talking to rail network operator Govia about extending a partnership.
It already has a 1,200 sq ft store at Govia's Cooden Beach station in East Sussex.
