Cook has hired a finance director and retail director after delivering a 20% increase in sales for the six months to the end of September.
Richard Steele, previously finance director at clothing retailer White Stuff, has joined Cook on an interim basis.
Lorna Miles, whose background is also in fashion, at Fat Face and Gap, has joined as retail director. Miles was awarded an MBE for her most recent work overseeing the British Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo.
“With 65 shops, we’re a national retail business and need people who have experience of running that size of business,” said a Cook spokesman.
In the first half of the financial year, Cook’s sales rose 20% to £14m, with like-for-like sales up 6.5% and profits up 19% to £0.33m.
“It’s been a great first half, continuing the momentum of last year,” said Cook founder Edward Perry.
Meanwhile, Cook has opened a concept store in Muswell Hill featuring kitchen table-style freezer cladding, brighter lighting and merchandising by product type rather than portion size.
