Costco has reported a 6% net sales increase for the five weeks ending 5 January.
The wholesaler, which operates 648 warehouses worldwide, with 25 in the UK, yesterday reported sales of $11.5bn for the period, up from $10.8bn for the same period last year.
Sales, excluding negative impacts from gasoline price deflation and foreign exchange, were up 5% in the US and 7% in international markets.
Costco also posted a sales increase for the 18 weeks ending 5 January, up 6% to $38.3bn from $36.2bn last year.
In December, Costco reported sales up 5% for the quarter ending 24 November, up to $24.5bn from $23.2bn during the same quarter last year.
