Costcutter has reported an 11.6% increase in sales for its Christmas period, compared to last year.

The Yorkshire-based supermarkets group has continued with its expansion plans over the past year, with an addition of 150 stores to its portfolio.

Founder and managing director, Colin Graves, said: “As the convenience store sector consolidates due to increased activity from the multiples, these figures prove that it is possible to match them, and in fact, thrive, through a combination of good pricing, high store standards and an effective marketing strategy.”
