Rail operator Connex has said it is going ahead with the official launch of its Gillingham Costcutter store in the next two months. Connex head of communications Deborah Pester quashed concerns its Costcutter partnership was on hold, saying branding would be put up at their first store which opened in Gillingham in February. She said: "We are delighted with sales at Gillingham, even without a fascia or branding. The local community is very pleased with it." Connex has made no decisions on any further sites for a rollout of the joint ticket office/c-store venture, but Pester said: "We believe a chain of railway station convenience stores is part of the long-term future of Connex." {{NEWS }}
