A Costcutter in York is still under water after the worst floods in its 28 years of trading. Bob Taylor who owns the Stamford Bridge store had the shop floor raised before the latest crisis, to minimise risk from flooding from the nearby River Derwent. But he has had to keep the the store closed since the River Derwent burst its banks on Halloween, and water is now 8 inches deep inside. Taylor estimates the floods have cost him tens of thousands of pounds in lost business and damage to stock and property. {{NEWS }}
