Costcutter is planning a leaflet campaign to woo retailers away from rival symbol groups.
The company, ranked fourth in The Grocer’s Top 10 fascia, franchise and symbol groups, claimed it had already been inundated with responses from non-affiliated retailers.
But it now has retailers from rival symbol groups in its sights.
“We have been getting 40 calls a day since we began recruiting two weeks ago,” said communications manager Graham Hey. “We’ve had a few hundred responses from retailers with turnovers of up to £25,000 per week. We were planning to send out 4,100 flyers to other symbol groups, but we’ve had such a large response so far, we haven’t had time.”
