Tesco has been rapped by the advertising watchdog after ads for its ill-fated Double the Difference price-checking campaign were branded “misleading” and “contradictory”.
Rising costs hit margins at Cranswick in the past six months, the pork supplier confirmed yesterday. The Tesco and Sainsbury’s supplier said pre-tax profits for the six months to 30 September were down from £23.8m last year to £18.5m.
Tesco is to introduce a new automated system it claims will double its current pick rates for online grocery orders at its new London e-commerce distribution hub.
