Wholesaler DBC Foodservice, which has a turnover of £136m, is set to leave the Nisa-Today's Group on January 1 to become Landmark's fourth biggest member.
The move comes after DBC acquired the warehousing and distribution company Tom Granby earlier this year, which handles the central distribution business of Landmark, leaving DBC as members of one buying group but distributing for the other.
Rodney Hunt, Today's Group MD said: "While we shall be sorry to see DBC leave, after a relationship going back some 12 years, we are satisfied that it is not through any terms issues but purely because of the situation they inherited through the purchase of Tom Granby."
Brian Metcalfe, purchasing director of DBC, added: "We are sorry to be leaving Today's, as we have had a good working relationship. The decision has been taken purely because of our acquisition of Tom Granby and the conflict of interests this has created."
