Hudson’s of Wandsworth has been voted the best independent retailer of the year in the Booker Prize for Excellence Awards 2004.
The store also scooped the award for best large convenience store for the second year running. Managing director Nick Cooper said: “We work hard to ensure we give our customers exactly what they want, when they want it, and this award is recognition of our success and dedication to our customers.”
Cooper was one of five retail businesses named in The Grocer’s ‘Ones to Watch’ for 2004 (February 21, p36).
Other retail winners in the Booker awards were: Chapmans Neighbourhood Store, Kettering; Moonshine, Bourne; The Premier Store & Off-Licence, Hartcliff; and the Fountain Shop, Merthyr Tydfil.
